The newest San Francisco Marina and the only one not on the north side of the city, South Beach Harbor was built in 1986 by the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency. When the redevelopment agency was dissolved in 2012, the marina was transferred to the Port of San Francisco. The marina is in the fortuitous position of being next to the ballpark and the closest marina to the America's Cup action. Home to the South Beach Yacht Club. Free pump-out stations. Waiting list for a permanent slip is reportedly 1,300-people long, so plan ahead.

Access: After heading south under the Bay Bridge, South Beach Harbor is on the right, just before SBC Park.

About Marinas

There are nearly 40 marinas in the central San Francisco Bay area, with a total of more than 11,000 slips. Many have some guest slips available for overnight visits. Some marinas have openings for permanent slips, but many have waiting lists.

About Guest Docks

There are few dedicated public guest docks on the bay. Many marinas have some guest slips available. If you're a member of a yacht club, other clubs can often offer a guest slip.
