The Maritime Park includes historic ships as well as an excellent museum (west of the pier), an extensive reference library (in Fort Mason, building E), and a visitor center (in the Argonaut Hotel building). Ships berthed at the Hyde Street Pier include the square-rigged ship Balclutha, the C.A. Thayer (now undergoing restoration in Alameda), the hay scow Alma, and the ferry Eureka. The Jeremiah O'Brien liberty ship and Pampanito submarine, both from WW II, are a few blocks east at Fisherman's Wharf.
