Old pier and warehouse, extensively rebuilt a few years ago to become a boat center. Large, deep-draft (and expensive) guest dock can accommodate megayachts of nearly any size. Old warehouse now provides dry storage of smaller boats, with launching by crane. 50-slip marina in development.

Access: Just south of the Bay Bridge, one block north of the ballpark. (In case you aren't familiar with the peculiar numbering of San Francisco's piers, note that Pier 38 is not near Pier 39, which is north-west of the Bay Bridge.)

About Guest Docks

There are few dedicated public guest docks on the bay. Many marinas have some guest slips available. If you're a member of a yacht club, other clubs can often offer a guest slip.

About Dry Storage for Boats

Sailboats and powerboats alike can be stored on dry land in a variety of facilities. Dry storage is less expensive than keeping your boat in the water and has the advantage of keeping the bottom clean and eliminating the risk of taking on water while in the slip.
